Even the scorching heat of the hottest summer ever recorded couldn't deter the CUSD community from attending the eagerly anticipated Chandler Education Foundation (CEF) annual Golf Tournament and Fundraiser!
The 22nd installment of this vital initiative, took place on Friday, September 8th, 2023 at the Whirlwind Golf Club at Wild Horse Pass. The event owed its success to the generous support of our Title and Tournament sponsors, namely BSN Sports, McCarthy, SPS+ Architects, Chasse, Concord General Contracting, Core, and orcutt | winslow. Our dynamic emcee, Steve Hewitt of AZCEND, set the pace for the 240 players who graced the greens in support of our schools.
The sunny day began with a delectable breakfast courtesy of Insight and DLR Group, during which participants marveled at a lone coyote that had ventured onto the course. The tee-off was delayed slightly as players indulged in the Bloody Mary bar sponsored by Pimmex-Chasse. Despite the mercury soaring to a sweltering 109 degrees, everyone stayed refreshed with their mango-scented cooling towels.
During a delightful lunch, provided by intel, Lenovo and SM Communications, 30 fortunate participants walked away with some of the incredible prizes donated by Enterprise Networks Solutions including a $500 Amazon gift card, a Dooney & Bourke handbag, a bubble gum machine, and more. One especially ecstatic winner received a new pink golf bag. All our players were treated to snack and goody bags, as well as Chandler Education Foundation stadium chairs, as tokens of gratitude for their support.
Jen Hewitt, the Executive Director of the Chandler Education Foundation expressed her appreciation, saying, "What a day! I am so grateful to the volunteers, players, and sponsors who consistently step up every year to make this event such a success for our schools. We are truly fortunate to have such remarkable partners who generously contribute their time and resources to ensure our students receive the best possible education."
The culmination of this fun event was an impressive $164,000 raised, a testament to the power of community. All these funds will be dedicated to advancing excellence within our Chandler Unified schools.
