Chandler, AZ, September 6, 2024 – The Chandler Education Foundation (CEF) is thrilled to announce a record-breaking success at this year’s 23rd Annual CEF Golf Tournament & Fundraiser, held at the Whirlwind Golf Club at Wild Horse Pass. With the generous support of local businesses and community members, the event raised an impressive $187,000 to benefit the Chandler Unified School District (CUSD), marking a new milestone in the foundation’s efforts to support public education.
Nearly 40 dedicated volunteers arrived early to ensure the event was flawlessly executed. The tournament drew 252 golfers and welcomed contributions from 64 organizations through annual sponsorships, event participation, and in-kind donations. Funds raised will directly support CEF’s wide array of programs, including emergency family assistance, scholarships for students and teachers, classroom grants, and more.
“The business community looks forward to the CEF Golf Tournament each year to show our support and appreciation for the valuable contributions the number-one school district in Arizona brings to both families and the local economy,” said Matt Wedding, Volunteer Chair of the CEF Golf Committee and Business Unit Leader at Chasse Building Team. “I’m so proud and grateful for the dedication of our committee and volunteers in raising record support for our schools.”
This year’s event featured numerous highlights, including the presentation of colors by Chandler High School’s Junior ROTC, a moving performance of the national anthem by Hamilton High School sophomore, Jantzen June Edgar, and several engaging activities such as the Backswing Beat the Pro competition and a GIF photo booth. Participants also had the chance to win 16 golf prizes and 32 raffle prizes, donated by local organizations and individuals.
“We’re incredibly appreciative of the ongoing support from CEF and its partners. The funds generated through this event make a significant impact on our ability to ensure equitable access to opportunities and innovative resources that drive academic excellence,” commented Frank Narducci, CUSD Superintendent.
The Chandler Education Foundation extends heartfelt thanks to its sponsors, volunteers, and participants for their unwavering support in ensuring that CUSD continues to thrive and provide exceptional opportunities for its students, families, and educators.
