Pursuit of Knowledge Scholarship
(1 available) - $1,000
The Pursuit of Knowledge Scholarship was established by Chase and Roman Winkelmann, two brothers who are passionate about education and community service. As the co-founders of Winks Washes Mobile Detailing, a mobile car detailing business based in Chandler, Arizona, they have experienced firsthand the value of hard work, innovation, and the power of learning.
Chase, a sophomore at Arizona State University's Barrett, the Honors College, is studying mechanical engineering with a minor in business. He has a strong academic background, having graduated from Chandler High in 2023, earning multiple scholarships and recognition for his achievements. Roman, currently a sophomore at Corona del Sol High School, is committed to honing his detailing and automotive body repair skills through the East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT).
The brothers believe that education opens doors to countless opportunities, and through this scholarship, they have a clear purpose:
To combat the spreading negative stigma around higher education.
In today’s world, there is an ongoing narrative, especially on social media, about the belief that a degree is unnecessary and that degrees are losing their value. While it is true that everyone’s path is different, the Winkelmann brothers firmly believe that the Pursuit of Knowledge is invaluable to growth. Whether through college, trade school, or any other form of higher education, the commitment to learning is what drives innovation and personal development. This scholarship aims to encourage students to pursue knowledge in whatever manner best aligns with their goals and aspirations, and to remain resolute in the face of voices that suggest otherwise.
The Pursuit of Knowledge is a journey that doesn’t have a single destination, but one that continuously shapes individuals and their aspirations. This scholarship looks for students who not only excel academically, but also understand the gift of education and plan to leverage their knowledge to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond. By supporting these driven individuals, the scholarship aims to foster a new generation of leaders committed to lifelong learning and personal growth, ensuring that education remains a celebrated pathway to success.
